Blogging As I Know It Is Gone

Typing that title hurt.

I started blogging in October of 2013. I was in my third year of high school, and it was everything good in a slice of my life where everything had been the worst. I met people who cared about books as much as I did. I got some self-esteem. I made friends who also liked books! I would spend Sundays in a routine of writing three blog posts and replying to comments on my blog and going on my own comment spree.

Fast forward to 2018, and social media has overtaken blogs. Or well, it's overtaken personal ones. Fashion bloggers are now fashion social media influencers, and I can't really think of bloggers anymore. And blogs haven't exactly died, but they're they're trying to be viral, like with Medium, or purely informational, like every other blog out there from a company.

But I want to know people. I want to know the stories from the people I follow on Instagram. I want to see what kind of recurring blog post feature people will have! I want a reason to use a feed reader!

Unfortunately, things have changed. Trying to deny it would be as futile as denying that I miss being part of a blogging community and comments. But now, the money is on social media and Youtube, not blogs.

And I don't know if I'll even have time once school starts up again (senior year too), but just writing in here makes me happy. I'm itching to mess around. I'm itching to talk a lot about myself. Okay, kidding, I just really want to document some part of my life.

So, I'm gonna try and fill this blog a little more over my summer. I'll try to figure out how to enable comments (RIP to me for deciding to code my own site!!!). Who knows where this is going to lead, but blogging makes me happy, and that's all I'm going to cling to ✌️

P.S. While you're here, I'd really appreciate if you tell me what you'd like to read from me? No comments feature yet, so send a message on Instagram?
